I’m convinced that copywriting is one of the best business ventures to enter into. Its a service that every business needs, and not one every business owner can provide for themselves.
But, your service is somewhat nebulous. For example:
how do you define the work to be done?
what if you’re dealing with a client who is never satisfied?
How do you know if you have successfully fulfilled your client’s expectations?
Who owns the words you produce?
This Copywriting Agreement covers all this and more.
This agreement is appropriate as an add-on to a full Creative Law Shop client contract such as, Website Design or SEO Services Agreement.
If you primarily offer a different service, but also offer copywriting to some clients, adding this to your current agreement is a perfect way to cover both those sides of your business.

Which package has been chosen and what is included in that package
How the deliverables will be delivered
Number of rounds of revisions included and cost for additional revisions
Duration (dates) of the project
Methods of payment accepted and payment terms (initial payment, retainer/deposit, final payment, etc.)
What happens if the situation arises of a late payment
Policies on refunds, rush work and after hours work
Duties of the client (including attending appointments, participation and providing needed resources)
Statement on confidentiality
Who owns the intellectual property and copyright rights after the copywriting work is completed
Ability for the copywriter to engaged in other business, which do not pose a conflict of interest with the Client during the agreement
What happens if the client decides to reschedule, cancel or terminate the agreement
Policies around reimbursement if the agreement is terminated and the Copywriter has already spent time performing the services

This agreement is between you and your copywriting client, clearly detailing expectations of both parties and starting the project off on the right foot.
